Stuhr Museum near Grand Island, Nebraska, 1967, by Edward Durell Stone. "Exhibits in the Stuhr Building introduce visitors to the history and development of the region and prepare them for what they will see, hear, and experience touring the outdoor museum. The Stuhr Building's many indoor exhibits of period rooms, tools, household articles and furnishings introduce visitors to Nebraska's history from 1860 to 1920. The building is fully surrounded by a water-filled moat complete with Koi fish and a splendid walkway up to the impressive main structure of the museum." Photos and more description of the building, including twin spiral staircases and four fountains, available at the Stuhr Museum site. Photos courtesy Stuhr Museum.

Caroline Wiess Law Building, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Houston, Texas. 1001 Bissonnet Street. The museum's original building was designed in 1924 by William Ward Watkin in the popular Neoclassical style. In 1953, the MFAH commissioned Mies van der Rohe to create a master plan for the institution. He designed two additions to the building—Cullinan Hall, completed in 1958, and the Brown Pavilion, completed in 1974. A renowned example of the International Style, the Caroline Wiess Law Building is one of only two Mies-designed museums in the world. More details and photos.
