Demolished!

Horizons, EPCOT Center, Disney World, ca. 1983. Dedicated to humanity's future, Horizons opened on October 1, 1983, under the sponsorship of the General Electric Corporation, as part of phase II of the EPCOT Center theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

The pavilion featured an in-depth 15 minute ride-through attraction that transported guests into an ingenious 21st century of genetically engineered desert farms, floating undersea cities, and spherical space colonies. In 1993, General Electrics ten year contract expired, and the company decided not to renew. The pavilion remained open until 1994 when it closed. It reopened in 1995 without a sponsor while a neighboring EPCOT Center pavilion was closed for rehab. Horizons closed permanently on January 9, 1999.
